_ Our Story _
Pranavam is an ancestral property of a prominent Hindu family of yesteryears gifted to them by the Pazhassi Raja (popularly referred to as the Lion of Kerala for his fight against British occupancy) on account of the family's contributions to society. Handed down over generations, since the last 30 years, the property is being operated by a retired couple and their immediate family members as a homestay option for visitors seeking to enjoy authentic, rural fare and way of life amidst Mother Nature.
Pameer Enterprise is the parent company of Pranavam Resort. While Paneer Enterprise stands as the primary business entity, Pranavam Resort and Spa serves as its distinguished trade name, representing our exquisite retreat nestled in a 100-acre coffee plantation surrounded by tea plantations, rainforests, and green mountains.
The runaway success of this venture over the years prompted the family to expand the business to set up perhaps a first-of-its-kind fully fledged luxury resort with multiple homestay options, complete with all modern amenities in tandem with the lay of the land and in perfect harmony with the environment, to accommodate their ever-growing clientele The spanking-new Pranavam Resort & Spa is a destination in itself, packed with options for an adventure holiday and/or a laid-back vacation savoring the wonders of Nature focused at rejuvenating your body, mind and soul, naturally.
Over the last 30 years we have focused on the highest quality of service in the hospitality industry while ensuring that we offer our guests surprisingly authentic experiences with a local flavor – the mantra of our success. Every guest is treated as a member of the family and encouraging ecotourism and supporting environmental consciousness in combination with proactive sustainable practiceshas been a practice since inception. We believe that the culture, environment and economy of our local community is fragile, requiring a sustained commitment from every one of us to ensure that together we have a lasting positive impact and minimal footprint.
We only serve authentic organic fare at Pranavam and we go the extra mile to ensure that our venture at all times lends not only meaningfully support to our community but also serves as a source of education, positive cultural exchanges and financial incentives to protect the natural environment while at the same time offering our invaluable guests an unforgettable experience.
About Pranavam Resort & Spa – Wayanad’s Luxury Retreat with a Heartfelt Story
Pranavam Resort & Spa started as a family-run homestay in 2000, nestled in the tranquil coffee plantations of Wayanad. Over the years, it evolved, and in 2020, we became a full-fledged resort, offering guests a luxurious yet intimate escape into nature.
The resort is now proudly owned and operated by Homayon Khoram, an Afghan national with a rich history. With a Master's in Civil and Industrial Engineering from the Soviet Union, Homayon met his wife, Dhanya Ravindran, during his studies. Dhanay, a native of this plantation, hails from India.
Together, we navigated the challenges of a turbulent world—from life under Taliban rule in Afghanistan to seeking refuge in Pakistan, and eventually working with United Nations agencies after 9/11. Our journey has been featured in Indian newspapers, and our love story was even highlighted in "Faasley," part of the "Love Storiaan" documentary on Amazon Prime, produced by Karan Johar.
Our story, deeply rooted in resilience, love, and hope, reflects the warmth and care we offer at Pranavam Resort & Spa. From personalized hospitality to unique experiences, we invite you to enjoy an unforgettable stay where history, luxury, and nature meet.
